Thai Beef Burgers with Smashed Avocado

Thai Beef Burgers
These Thai inspired beef burgers are the perfect quick & easy week night dinner or a lovely lunch that you could serve your weekend guests. The fresh herbs are sensational inside the beef, providing those Thai flavours that we all love.

INGREDIENTS

500 grams of ground beef (or more if you require)
A handful of fresh basil
A handful of fresh coriander
1 tablespoon of fish sauce
1 lime
1 teaspoon of chilli flakes
1 teaspoon of freshly ground sea salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 avocado
Pinch of salt
1 tomato
10 cos lettuce leaves
Caramelised Onion (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Wash the fresh herbs & roughly chop
  2. In a large bowl place the ground mince, herbs, fish sauce, chilli flakes, 1/2 squeeze lime & salt
  3. Mix until all the ingredients are combined
  4. In a hot pan place the olive oil
  5. Form large burger patties with the mince mixture & place in the pan
  6. Cook on each side for 5 minutes or until cooked through
  7. To make the smashed avocado, peel the avocado
  8. On a cutting board smash the avocado on a board using a fork
  9. Grind a pinch of salt & pepper on time & squeeze half a lime onto the avocado
  10. Fold the avocado so that the seasoning is mixed through
  11. Cut the tomato & lettuce leaves
  12. Assemble on the plate, top the avocado with fresh coriander
  13. Serve & enjoy this delicious fresh dish!
