I loved recently going to my home town of Whangarei in Northland, New Zealand to be interviewed about my real food journey. We were in mum’s kitchen for the interview and I had whipped together a batch of raw chocolate bliss balls to give to the journalist.
I think that my mum was having a giggle about one of my first memories which was from when I was only about three years old. I told the journalist that I remember standing next to my mum as she stood on the big old fashioned scales at Weight Watches to be weighed in, that is how it was and then I became a dieter too. As you can see dieting is a part of our family history.
I am glad to be breaking the cycle along with my mum and Gran by simply getting back to healthy living, hopefully my daughter will not have to go through the diet roller coaster struggle like the three generations before her.
The article was written by Alexandra Newlove and she also took this down to earth photo of me and my mum. The article appeared in the Whangarei Leader and on Stuff.co.nz – which you can read right here.
