Calling the Gold Coast home, it is no secret that Summer is our favourite season of them all. Basking in the ambiance of morning beach walks, no shortage sunshine rays, and balmy afternoons around a BBQ with friends and family, the list goes on. BUT the real reason why this is our favourite time of year, you guessed it! FOOD! We cannot get enough of the latest food crazes that have taken over our Summer spreads.

- EVEYTHING ACAI – Acai Smoothies and Acai Bowls have taken social media by storm and we are quite okay with that! Over the past 2 years, acai (Pronounced “Ah-Sigh-Ee” In case you were wondering) has fast become the most insta-worthy Summer treat. Presented beautifully, these bowls do not only excite the eye but are packed with nutritional goodness. Acai berries originating from the rain forests in the Amazon are an antioxidant rich fruit, boosting energy and immune systems.

- POKE BOWLS – Poke Bowls (Pronounced Poh-Keh) combine two of our favourite things, Hawaii and Sashimi! The Hawaiian twist on a Japanese Classic has fast become a welcomed food craze this Summer, appearing in cafes and restaurants across the Gold Coast. It is raw fish, cut into cubes and served with Asian inspired marinade, quinoa or brown rice and topped with anything from shredded greens, crunchy vegies, edamame and seaweed.
Ahi Poke Bowl – Feasting At Home
- BUDDAH BOWLS – Buddah Bowls, otherwise known as Hippie Bowls make eating a rainbow a reality. This aesthetically pleasing dish is Summer in a bowl. They are filling and hearty dishes made with a beautiful selection of greens, roasted vegies and a healthy grain such as quinoa or brown rice. Although true to form, creatives in the kitchen have customised this Summer favourite by introducing their own rendition and we cannot get enough!
