Today I got an email from me Gran because she saw that I have running the Real Food Pledge Challenge and she wanted to wish me luck!
When I first started to eat real food, my mum and my grandmother who is in her 80’s joined me in the lifestyle shift. Gran is amazing, so fit, she is on facebook, email’s everyone and stays up to day with every gadget you can imagine.
Back in 2013 when I started Real Food Pledge and wrote my first book, my Gran proof read the book from cover to cover and tried all the recipes.
This is a photo of four generations of my Gran, Mum, Daughter and myself.
When I was growing up, there was always dessert and cake at her place. She hid Shapes Crackers in a Tupperware container and us kids would sneak one every now and then because I knew where the secret stash was.
My Gran had always yo-yo’d with her weight and was an original Weight Watcher. She had the hugest set of old fashion bathroom scales that weighed you in ‘stones.’ When she did Real Food Pledge with me in 2013 she lost about 10kg effortlessly and was able to fit a dress that she still had in her cupboard from when she was in her 30’s.
Isn’t that so amazing!
This is what she wrote to me today about her real food experience.
Hi Caralee,
‘I wanted to wish you luck for your Real Food Pledge Challenge, I hope you get lots of people! I haven’t put on anything since I lost the initial lot of weight, and I seldom eat processed food now, and no wheat flour at all, especially since Poppa has had to go gluten free. I honestly feel that wheat flour is a killer.
