How to end the crash diets

14/08/2019 By Caralee Leave a Comment

I used to be someone who would go on a crash diet as an event or holiday approached. I was DESPERATE to get the weight off so that I would feel good for the special occasion.

I would repeat this behaviour throughout the year – year after year.

I know what it’s like to wake up each day obsessed with losing weight.

Now days I THINK and APPROACH it differently.

I have learnt that being in a rush to lose weight and going on a crash diet doesn’t serve me because every time that I did this and I reached the goal, or holiday, only within a short few weeks or months I would be back to where I started… or worse off!

I have learnt to love where am now and to keep each day simple and to take small achievable steps towards change.

The biggest thing that I have learnt since I started Real Food Pledge in 2013 is that our health, weight and learning to love ourselves is a life long journey, there is no quick fixes.

Everything I do has to feel doable. And I encourage the same to those inside my Real Food Pledge Challenge. If it isn’t doable for you, then you will not be able to maintain it.

There was zero chance I eat perfectly healthy all the time so I got over mistakes, learned, and kept going.

That’s it. This is the mindset I had to make myself adopt day after day. Guess what happens… you start to truly love and embrace yourself, then your goals become closer.
